An initial assessment will be performed by our Rehab Certified Veterinarian and an individualized treatment plan will be created based on your pets needs.
Patients may have multiple physical barriers that require more than one type of therapy. Strengthening, flexibility, function, and endurance can all require different therapeutic modalities depending on the patient and their goals. These sessions utilize multiple modalities to assist with conditions and injuries that require more than one type of therapy and may include underwater treadmill, laser therapy, dry land exercise and more. Modalities are dependent on patients needs and goals and are determined by the therapist at each visit.
Fitness and exercise are key to your pets overall health and mobility. There are many benefits to dry land training and conditioning that will help your pet stay fit as well as improve mobility, strength, balance and endurance. Through the use of specialized equipment and some creative thinking your pet can be challenged to use their bodies and muscles to reach goals whether recovering or just needing overall conditioning. There are a wide variety of exercises that can be implemented into a rehabilitation plan that can be done at home to help reach rehab goals.
Body condition and weight are important in your pets overall health and physical abilities. Fitness and conditioning are beneficial when working towards weight loss or management. Exercise and nutrition will help ensure your pet reaches a healthy weight, whether the goal is to build muscle or lose pounds. A weight management program is a key component in helping you and your pet reach their goals and stay healthy.

Hydrotherapy is an effective and fun way to help your pet recover, re-strengthen, regain and train their muscles and joints. Water has natural properties such as buoyancy and resistance that help to promote muscle integrity, balance and assist in gait training. This therapy can be used in a wide variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions including pre and post operative therapy and is also beneficial for muscle maintenance and strengthening. The underwater treadmill is a great tool for conditioning with seniors or agility pets and can be easily integrated into weight loss programs.
Laser therapy is a non-invasive therapeutic option that can help alleviate and manage chronic and acute conditions. Laser therapy aids in the body’s natural healing process through photobiostimulation to reduce inflammation by increasing blood flow, and promoting cellular growth and metabolism. Laser can be used in conjunction with other therapies or by itself as a therapeutic treatment.
Laser Therapy can be used to treat:
• Osteoarthritis
• Soft tissue Injuries
• Post operative pain
• Superficial Wounds
• Sporting Injuries
• Senior Maintenance
Session cost is dependent on the number of areas treated
Ultrasound therapy is a deep heating therapy that is commonly used to treat conditions or injuries pertaining to tendons and muscles. Ultrasound can assist with joint range of motion, and can alleviate pain associated with tendinopathies. This therapy works through heat absorption and the therapist is able to control the depth of penetration to achieve the desired effect on tissues.
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) are therapies that are used to assist with muscle injuries or to control pain. TENS therapy can be used to treat areas that are painful whereas NMES can be used to help with muscle reeducation to help prevent atrophy from disuse. Sometimes after an injury or surgery muscles and nerves can become stagnant or begin to atrophy during recovery, it is important to keep these muscles strong and active and if a patient is unable to be physically active a therapist can use electrical stimulation therapy to help stimulate those dormant muscles and nerves.
Massage therapy is the application of specific hand movements on a patient to improve muscle and joint function by relieving tension, spasm, or other restrictions to proper motion. It may be used for warm-up purposes, for relaxing or stimulating muscles in order to prevent injury, or for rehabilitation of a pet after an injury has occurred.
Acupuncture is one aspect of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) that focuses on restoring the energy balance in the body to promote healing. The technique requires the insertion of fine needles into the body at specified points, called acupuncture points, where nerves and blood vessels converge.
Acupuncture can be utilized for many conditions including:
